Privacy policy

Summary
Calquracalculators run entirely in your browser. We do not store the numbers you enter on our servers. We use privacy-respecting analytics, Google AdSense advertising, and (on calculators where you opt in) Anthropic's Claude AI to generate plain-English explanations of your results. This page explains what that means in practice.
What we collect
- Calculator inputs: processed in your browser, not sent to our servers, not stored.
- Aggregate analytics via Google Analytics 4: pages viewed, approximate region (country/region level), device type, referrer. GA4 sets cookies and collects an IP-derived region but IP itself is not retained in a way that identifies you.
- Advertising data via Google AdSense: cookies that personalize ads based on your browsing history across sites.
- AI explanation requests(only if you click "Explain this result"): your calculator inputs and result are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a plain-English explanation. Your IP address is used for rate limiting and is not retained. No identifier ties the request back to you.
- Contact email: when you email us, we use your address only to respond.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not ask for or store names, email addresses, or account credentials (we have no accounts).
- We do not sell data to third parties.
- We do not track you across other sites beyond what Google AdSense does for its own advertising.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We display ads via Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or via the EU-focused YourOnlineChoices.eu. Blocking cookies in your browser will show non-personalized ads instead.
Some finance pages include affiliate links to lenders and financial-service companies. If you apply or sign up through one of these links, we may earn a commission. Affiliate relationships never affect our math, recommendations, or calculator outputs.
Your rights under GDPR (EU/UK visitors)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, restrict, or delete any personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. Our lawful basis for processing analytics and advertising data is consent (which you may withdraw by blocking cookies in your browser) and legitimate interest (running and improving the site). To exercise these rights or ask a GDPR-specific question, email us at privacy@calqura.com.
Your rights under PIPEDA (Canadian visitors)
Calqura is operated from Canada and complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You may request access to any personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent by emailing privacy@calqura.com. If you have a complaint that we cannot resolve, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Your rights under CCPA (California visitors)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise these rights, email privacy@calqura.com.
Children (under 13)
Calqura is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention
Because we do not collect account data, there is nothing user-specific to retain. Google Analytics data is retained per GA4's default settings (14 months for event data). AdSense cookies follow Google's standard retention. AI explanation requests may be cached on our servers for up to 24 hours to avoid recomputing identical results. Contact emails are kept only as long as needed to respond.
Cookies and your choices
You can block cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may disable analytics and will switch ads to non-personalized (generic) mode. You can also use a privacy-focused browser or tracking-blocker extension. See Google's privacy policy for cookie details and Anthropic's privacy policy for how Claude API requests are handled.
